Gwenny & the Haunted House

Once upon a time there was a fae-neko named Gwenny. She loved to wonder around SecondLife.

One night, she came across and foggy road and decided to see where it lead her (curiousity and cats you know).

As she walked along, she came across a frightening sight.

Scared she ran along and came across ever more frightening things.

Seeing a house nearby, Gwenny ran in to it to hide.

Inside, however, she found a scary witch! Stumbling around she landed on a chair and something horrible happened!

Fortunately, her stumbling allowed her to touch a magical device and returned her to her true form but left the poor little fae-neko horrified.

But then she heard the witch's laughter getting closer and Gwenny ran into the bedroom she'd spotted. Inside, she found a demon-doll. Startled she jerked back and fell into an even greater nightmare. One filled with giant spiders, skeletons, and a room where Gwenny thought she would loose her head.

Escaping the room, Gwenny ran and ran until she came to some doors. Throwing them open, she came across the witch again!

Horrified, she screamed! Only to wake up and realize it was all a dream.

Or, was it?

Space Case

One of the things I love most about Second Life is how I can be anything, or anyone, I want to be. Take last night, as example.

The Lounge of Dreams (LoD) had their Outer Space Night. Bel, a friend, had suggested I be Amy Wong from Futurama, as he was Zap Branigan, someone else was Leila, and Bender was there. He has such cool ideas, so I said ok, and went to the place where he got his costume. However, while walking around I saw a Zhaan suit and I just HAD to get it. So that's why I got to spent last night dancing around the Lounge as Zhaan!

The other reason I love Second Life is all the great people I meet!

Like, Fae, who decided to be a leprechaun for a bit. hee!

Or Mr. Ninetails, who shakes his thing for us at the Lounge.

Then there's the Lounge, itself. Filled with great people and fun times!

And finally, before I go, here's Bender!

As always, all my SL pics can be found on my flickr account.

Just felt like being a flapper and I found the gorgeous dress I'm wearing at !Rebel Hope. It's called "Clara Bow" and it comes in several other colors.

Here's a few of me posing. :D

And, last night, The Lounge had 60s Night so here's a few shots from last night:

Bel and his Fro!

Host Spunky in his groovy pink style!

and finally, me in my go-go outfit dancin the night away!

FYI: I am wearing the "Mega Fluff Ears" and the "Snack" tail from Psychotic Kitty. The wings are called "Dusk Wing" and I got them for free when I searched X-Street.

Story recommendation

So, I've kept hearing I need to read [info]aggybird's "Frank-In-Love" story from numerous sources. I finally got to do so last night and OMG! It is SO great! Funny and original and I love ALL the characters and I just had to rec it to those who've not hear of it yet!

Summary: “Yeah, Gill called you a ‘tortured, sensitive, melancholy soul,’” Flea quoted, “‘searching desperately for his other half in a cruel world that doesn’t understand him.’ And I said, ‘Gay?’ and Gill said, ‘Yeah.’ And then when Drake came along, we both thought you’d found your equally weird other half.” Flea shrugged, as did Gill. They both looked embarrassed.

This is my letter to the world (2 poems and 2 pictures)

I forgot to post yesterday! Bad gwen! bad, bad, bad!

So, here's two (short) poems and a couple of pics to get caught up!

Poems

I Send Two Sunsets

I send Two Sunsets—
Day and I—in competition ran—
I finished Two—and several Stars—
While He—was making One—

His own was ampler—but as I
Was saying to a friend—
Mine—is the more convenient
To Carry in the Hand—

- Emily Dickinson

This Is My Letter To The World

This is my letter to the world,
That never wrote to me,--
The simple news that Nature told,
With tender majesty.

Her message is committed
To hands I cannot see;
For love of her, sweet countrymen,
Judge tenderly of me!

- Emily Dickinson

Google Bomb!

Amazon Rank

Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): amazon ranked

1. To censor and exclude on the basis of adult content in literature (except for Playboy, Penthouse, dogfighting and graphic novels depicting incest orgies).
2. To make changes based on inconsistent applications of standards, logic and common sense.

Etymology: from 12 April 2009 removal of sales rank figures from books on Amazon.com containing sexual, erotic, romantic, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered or queer content, rendering them impossible to find through basic search functions at the top of Amazon.com's website. Titles stripped of their sales rankings include "Bastard Out of Carolina," "Lady Chatterly's Lover," prominent romance novels, GLBTQ fiction novels, YA books, and narratives about gay people.

Example of usage: "I tried to do a report on Lady Chatterly's Lover for English Lit, but my teacher amazon ranked me and I got an F on grounds that it was obscene."

Alternate usage: "My girlfriend wanted to preserve her virginity, and I was happy to respect that, then she amazon ranked and decided anal sex was okay."

Amazon Fails big time!

I'm sure everyone's blogging about this already, but I wanted to post a few links to document the major fail that is Amazon:

Lust!

OMG! this man is GORGEOUS!!

Some thoughts about blogging

Lately, on LJ and IJ and other places, I've seen posts about Dreamwidth and discussions for it. I've read there are people who are against it, but I've not seen it.

I've signed in w/the OpenID feature, to see how it works. To be honest, I'll probably get an account there, not because I plan to leave my LJ/IJ accounts or anything but because I believe in having as many blogs as possible. :D

That's why I'm gonna start posting here more. Some post may be specific to the audiences at a certain blog system, but over all, I'll just keep on keeping on.

Also, y'all should get a Twitter!
